It’s a cycle.
See positive news about climate action.
See more stories about how we’re not doing enough.
We won’t reach our goals. We can’t do this or that.
Rinse and repeat.
All of this can be true: we can be taking huge strides in fighting climate change, but it can also feel like too little too late or like efforts to tackle the crisis aren’t on par with where they need to be.
With that said, it’s important not to despair. There’s a lot to be said for the progress being made. There’s a lot to fight for and a lot of entities are rallying around the issue of climate change, many for the first time.
There’s innovation happening at every level and on every corner.
There are investments coming in from the little guys and especially the big guys, including the federal government.
The road is a long and winding one, but the call to climate action is still imperative. Just like anything in life, progress isn’t always consistent, but quitting is a certain way of ensuring nothing improves or changes.
If you find yourself getting frustrated or thinking, “hey, what’s the point?” Take a second, regroup and keep these five things in mind:
Stay optimistic about what can be accomplished, but most importantly: we can be the change.
We all have a role to play in climate action.
